All Roads Lead To Rome

I was recently thinking to myself, “Where do I want to go next?” If I’m honest- I ask myself this question all the time lol, but we can’t be everywhere at once. Since spring is approaching, I wanted to go somewhere with moderate temperature, amazing culture & architecture, and great food. ROME! One of the most ancient cities, the food capital of the world, and somewhere I will definitely remember forever.

My family originated from Sicily, and I knew I wanted to go there - but I only had a week and I wanted to focus mainly on Rome. As I am planning my trip, I could already taste the food. My mouth was watering thinking about all of the great wine, cheeses, meats, and pasta galore. I booked an Airbnb around the Spanish Steps. Everything I wanted to do was right there - great restaurants, all of your favorite shopping boutiques, the center of it all.

I spent the first couple of days getting lost in the city. (I think that’s the best way to do it.) All of the streets are so beautiful with pebbled roads, greenery all over the buildings, and it’s truly everything I thought it would be when you think of Italy. I discovered this amazing restaurant/deli called La Prosciutteria. They have the BEST meat/cheese board, sandwiches, and wine. It’s a little hole in the wall place, and they did have a bit of a line- but trust me when I say it’s worth it.

From visiting the Coliseum to Vatican City, to eating endless pasta and cheeses, and trying 15 different kinds of gelato, you truly can’t go wrong in Rome, just be prepared to gain 10 pounds first.
